How does one become a canoe instructor?

Becoming a certified canoe instructor is typically not that hard to do. In most cases, all that is required is that one take a few simple courses and be able to past a certification test.

Should I buy an aluminum canoe?

An aluminum canoe is the ideal boat for open bodies of water such as lakes or ponds. However, if you’re more interested in river running, buying a lighter more maneuverable craft is probably a better idea.

What size canoe paddle should I buy?

The easiest way to find the ideal size paddle is to sit in the canoe while its on land, and place the paddle on the ground, handle side down. On the right size paddle, the “paddle” part should begin right at about nose level.
